ForMar - Walk 3 2010

One of the geese couples that no longer has goslings. Made me sad to see so many of the goslings no longer around.

I was excited to see this group of geese with six goslings.

A closer look.

Asa wanted me to take a picture of the moon. This is actually a second picture that I took. I like this one better because the first one didn't have the tree top in it.

Chris had Eli on his shoulders and was trying to duck under a tree branch, when Eli lost balance well Eli enjoyed the upside down very much.

A Hummingbird Moth. I was excited to spot this guy at first I thought he was a giant bumblebee. Boy was I stoked when I realized that it wasn't a bumblebee. (I still would have taken pictures had it been a bumblebee.)

My favorite, a butterfly, I never tire of hunting them down for photo ops. I think this is a new one for me but have not take time to look it up yet.

Okay so I didn't take any photos of Asa on this walk. I'm surprised because I usually get at least one. Oh well, Eli needs a few more anyway.

Christy,
Thanks for the nice comment on my pollen post. The pollen on the water does look like its a pollution scum but thankfully its perfectly natural.

I'm with you on the disappearing waterfowl young; with predators, automobiles and countless other hazards many do not make it to adulthood but with the predators & disease that's natures way. If enough survive to replace the parents that is all thats required to maintain a healthy population.

Christy: Neat capture of the goslings and the family. I love the butterfly.

Christy,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting.

I enjoyed visiting your blog today and hope to return often. I photographed a hummingbird moth two or three years ago and find them to be very beautiful and fascinating.

I like your photos! The geese you showed could be Canadian geese or Greylag Geese. The ones in my pictures are probably the latter, but I couldn't see, as the distance was too far. Thanks for your visit and have a great day!
