Almost a week already?

Sorry I haven't posted anything new in the last couple of days. We have been busy. Last Thursday we had Amber, then Friday we just lost a day I guess. Saturday we went to my cousins (in the Grand Rapids area) for a birthday party. Sundays are just busy, especially when I don't come home between services so that Chris can sleep. Monday we had Amber again. And today we had Asa's 18 month pictures taken and Amber is here again. Asa and Amber are taking a nap right now so I have a few free minutes.

We really had a nice time on Saturday. It was nice to get away from home even if it was only for a day. The birthday party was fun. Asa enjoyed being able to play outside even though the weather was cooler than what it has been the last few days. And it has stayed cooler since, I'm not happy about that. Going over there just made me realize that we need to visit more often so that Asa and Maddy as well as Eli will get to know each other better and not be so timid of each other. So my goal is to try and visit Grand Rapids at least once every other month if not more so that the kids can play and get to know each other as well as visiting time for the adults.

Doesn't Eli just look so cozy there against Brandon? This is also another reason that I want to spend more time with my cousin and his family. I want my boys to always feel this comfortable with all of my family.

Pics and video

Here are a couple of the latest pics that I have taken of the boys. Eli is getting ever closer to rolling over. The other day he rolled over a few times with his brother's help. I am also linking video of Asa doing one of the new things that he has learned to do recently. Hope ya'll enjoy.

Another Busy Weekend

Well we are staying busy. We had another birthday party this weekend, only this time it was for Nicholas. He is the oldest grandson on Christy's side of the family. The kids enjoyed spending time with the family as always. Eli is eager to join in on the fun only he doesn't yet possess the skills to be able to do this. I can't wait until he is able to roll over. He is almost there, his only problem is that he can't figure out how to get over his arm. Hopefully, I will get Eli rolling over on video. I will definitely post it if I do. I should have some more pics to post tomorrow.

So many filters which do I choose

Okay so I just recently acquired some filters for my camera. Many of these will be useful in trying to start a business. Especially the star filters for weddings, they look really nice for the lighting of the unity candle. I have posted a few images that I took with some of the filters. I was trying to see how they worked with my camera as well as test some that I have never used before.

This is the soft center filter. I have actually used one of these before. I like the effect this one has when you are outdoors.

Here is my sand filter I think I am going to like this one.

This is the tri-image filter. I haven't exactly figured out what I will possibly use this one for. But it was fun to play with just the same.

Below is my five image filter. I think I will have the most fun with this one. I'm already creating images in my mind with it.

Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays

This weekend we had a birthday celebration for Stephanie and Todd. Asa and Eli's oldest and youngest cousins on the Woods side. To hear us sing happy birthday click on the title. Asa had fun running around and playing with his Grandma. She was down on her knees crawling around and chasing him. Grandma also bought all of the older kids these weird suckers. Take a look at the pic and you know what I am talking about.

Pics of Eli and a few with Asa

Here are the promised pics of Eli. Also a few of Asa tickling his brother. I can tell these two are going to be the best of friends, already they light up when they see each other that's not to say there won't be any struggles between them because there will be I know from experience. Anyway hope you enjoy.

Five Months Old Already

I can hardly believe that Eli is five months old. It seems like that is impossible. Has that much time really gone by? It has been a busy week this week. We watched Amber for four of the last six days and will have her again tomorrow (Wed.) We enjoy our time watching her. She and Asa get along so well. It is so much fun watching them play together; even though everything I read says that children their age don't interact they only play side by side, I say phooey to this because these two really interact and play with one another. Like Carrie said we are just raising a couple of geniuses. :) I will have some pics of Eli to post in the next day or so.

Finally Some Pics

It is said a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, this one only needed five. The following pics can all be explained by this one picture.

Here Asa is playing with Eli. His face just says it all.

Here's Asa making a fashion statement.

Oh, the face of innocence.

Although, he isn't always up to something; he can be pretty helpful at times. As you can see he didn't want his daddy to be uncomfortable so Asa made sure that Chris had a stuffed animal to sleep with. He sure does love his daddy.

Daily Life

Life has been a bit uneventful as of lately. Not much has been happening over the last few days. Although I think I am going to start another blog dedicated to my photography. I'm trying to decide on a name but haven't necessarily thought of anything yet. If anyone has any ideas let me know. I plan to focus mainly on my nature photos. I will probably post some pics tomorrow evening. I have a house full right now and will probably get some good pics tomorrow afternoon. Trisha, Skylar and Claudia are all staying the night and I'm babysitting for Amber tomorrow, so hopefully I will get some really nice images of all the kids playing and what not.
