Egg Dyeing Time

A few nights before Easter, Skylar and Claudia stayed the night.  We had a fun evening of dyeing eggs.

After we had finished our egg activity, they decided it would be fun to mix all of the dyes and taste them.

Asa wasn't impressed.

Claudia wasn't impressed either but found it funny.

Trisha who really masterminded this plan really wasn't impressed.

And so every does not freak out about them drinking the dye, here is the method we chose to use. 

It smelled so much nicer than traditional methods and you just have to mix with water.

Michigan Warriors Hockey Game

Asa's school held a fund raiser selling tickets to the Michigan Warriors game.  The winning class sung the National Anthem at the beginning of the game and the highest sellers got to throw out the opening puck.

When we arrived for the game they gave us seats on the glass.  I was a little concerned that they would not like when the players hit the glass.  Boy was I ever wrong, they loved it and thought it was hillarious when ever it happened.

And of course the Zamboni is everyone's favorite part of the game, right?

Between the 2nd and 3rd periods they had a chuck the puck contest.  Many of the kids from the school were allowed to go help pick up the pucks afterward.

We had a great time.  I hope to attend a few more games next season.

Christmas at Crossroads 2011

I was ecstatic to have been chosen to win a family pack of tickets from one of my favorite places.  It has been years since I had been out at Christmas time.  Even though it was drizzly and rainy it was a fun evening.  The first stop we made was at the tree of lights.

Then we checked out the model trains.

While most everyone else watched the trains a bit longer, I headed out to check out more stuff.  Skylar and Claudia joined me.  I love seeing the lights and the reflection in the puddles made it even more exciting.

Then we headed to the platform to wait for our train ride.

We boarded the train and enjoyed a peaceful ride; although, we had to stop and wait while the conductor inspected the train to make sure the noise they were hearing wasn't an issue.  While stopped I was able to capture a pretty cool image of the train engine lights in the fog, mist and smoke of the evening.

Then we headed back to the carousel to let the kids ride courtesy of Faith.
