Eli the Tiger

So the other day, I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner. My oldest come into the kitchen telling me, "Eli's a tiger, Eli's a tiger." I think nothing of and simply say, "Oh that's fun, Eli's being a tiger" and finish getting dinner ready. A little while after this, as I am finishing up, Eli comes into the kitchen looking like this...

Some better pictures after he fell asleep before my hubby got home.

Independence Day Celebrations - July 2, 2010 - Part 3

Back to the cars to wait for the fireworks to begin.

Independence Day Celebrations - July 2, 2010 - Part 1

We got to Frankenmuth early and took the opportunity to walk around town and play the tourist. Always a fun thing to do. As we headed toward the bridge we came across a family of ducks and the kids had fun walking and quacking after them.

And who doesn't like the face cut-out picture opportunity?

A beautiful fountain in the downtown area.

Watching taffy being pulled.

At this point we headed to get some ice cream.

Independence Day Celebrations - July 2, 2010 - Part 2

After walking around town, we headed to get some ice cream.
Asa sporting a chocolate "moose"tache and a bit of a soul patch going on too.

We ran into Jenny and John and their crew there. So fun to have all the cousins together.

As we were walking back to get ready for the fireworks, we came across this hill and the kids loved climbing up and rolling back down.

Okay time to head back to watch fireworks.

A Relaxed Breakfast

I understand the doing it himself issue.

Of course, it is dry cereal in the bowl.

But I don't understand the need for the foot rest when his feet don't even go past the seat of the chair.

"Okay mom, I'm all done and why do you always take my picture" - at least that's what this picture says to me.

Asa Dresses Himself

The other day Asa tried to dress himself. It was so cute to watch him put his feet into the arm holes. I tried to let him know he was not doing it quite right but when he is determined to do it a certain way himself there is no deterring him.

Asa

Asa is now able to get what he wants out of the refrigerator, when we open the door for him. He thinks it is really neat to be able to do this too. He is just getting so big so fast. I can't believe how much he has learned in such a short time, as well as how much he learns everyday. Sometimes I wish I could see inside that working mind to know what he is thinking, especially when he play acts. He is constantly acting like he is doing something. It is so cute to watch him act like he is eating something; he will hold a plate or bowl and act like he is grabbing something and then put his hand to his mouth as if he is putting something in his mouth and sometimes he even chews this imaginary food. I will try to get video the next time he is doing this so I can share with everyone. Enjoy the pictures that I have posted.
