Asa woke up the morning after being out at the train fest and this is what he looked like. I feel bad because I had noticed his eyelid swelling before we left Owosso but didn't think it was going to be this bad so I didn't take him to the after hours clinic that night. Had to have Chris come home early from work so I could take Asa to the clinic (since our doc was on vacation). After half a day of steroids and Benadryl. Starting to look much better. A close up on day 2. And here he is two days later. Can hardly tell that there was any swelling at all. At this point he still had half a days dose left of the steroids.
I was cleaning in the kitchen the other day and Eli took a spill off my chair into the side table. The following pictures are the results of this accident. Talk about a mother's heart breaking. I felt guilty for trying to get house work done. What is a mom to do? He's all right but my heart still breaks when I think about it.
These first four images are of the band aid that I frantically placed on Asa's forehead after he fell into the curio cabinet and split his head open. It still all seems so surreal.
It was hard to believe that he was even hurt. Well other than the fact that you couldn't even get close to his forehead without a major struggle.
And these two images above are from the next day. Chris took these when he was loading Asa into the car to head out to the grocery store.
And these two images are a couple of closer ups with the good camera not the cell phone camera like the previous images all were from, these were taken after Chris and Asa got back from the store. (A lot of the discoloration around the cut is actually from the dermabond and not actual bruising which is what it appears to look like.)
